Assam black tea comes from the tea growing region in the far north-east of India - the largest black tea producing region in the world.
Assam tea is grown from a shrub named Camellia sinensis. This is the main plant used for the majority of tea produced around the world.
The ideal choice for those liking a "strong" cup of tea, with a full-bodied, rich and deep smooth malty flavour. This tea is a popular wake up drink and is often used in breakfast tea blends.
Assam teas generally have a higher caffeine content than some other teas such as green tea.
This has very fine Assam tea leaves, if you normally like a large leaf Assam loose black tea try our Assam TGFOP.
